Over the last few months it’s been difficult to get any consistent writing done. Both Annabel and I have so many demands pulling on our time that we barely have time for each other, let alone contributing to the blog in any meaningful way.
Because of that, lately this site has somewhat morphed into more of a visual blog. We’ve both discovered a love of photography and have found that modelling for each other is a wonderful lead in to other sexiness. Seeing your partner of twenty years through the lens of a camera provides you with an even deeper appreciation of their body than you ever had before.
I’ve also found great joy in applying creative edits to our photos. Whether it’s subtly editing particular elements so that they are highlighted in just the right way, or leaning right in and going with over-the-top colour pops, blurs and effects. Photo editing is a skill and an art all of it’s own and I’ve come to appreciate the dedication and creativity required to make an edit look seamless.
This month’s Sinful Sunday prompt though, is “Unedited”. The challenge is to provide a shot with no post-editing. To stage the scene and the pose just right so that nothing is required in post. It’s a task that takes you back to the pre-digital age, where you had to take a photo and just hope for the best, sometimes waiting weeks or month before discovering that your finger was over the lens. We found that we had to spend a lot more time setting up and pay attention to everything in the shot to make sure it looked just right.
We’re extremely proud of how this shot came out. We’ll definitely be putting more time and consideration into our setups of our photoshoots from now on and not necessarily relying on editing in post.
